A gorgeous Independence Day ceremony that is held every year makes every single Armenian proud of our country. Independence Day has great significance for us because it reminds us of the unity of our nation, irrespectively where we live, binds our people living in different countries into a bond of unity and brotherhood. This is the day when the entire nation comes together to spread happiness and love.
The spirit of Independence Day is not only about Armenia becoming independent as a country. It’s about celebrating the values that the nation gained and founded since ages, remembering and saluting the martyrs who sacrificed their life for the sake of nation’s freedom.
Independence Day is one of the main events for the Armenians of Adelaide. On this auspicious occasion, the whole Community stands together in order to showcase our unity to the world, and most importantly to ourselves.
We, as a community, are proud to state that it has become a tradition to visit Birnside Community Center every year, where we raise our three-color flag, followed by performing our national anthem.
